How do you ban players?
Overview
- Method 1: Use Player Manager (Recommended)
- Log in to your PineRiver GamePanel.
- Go to the Player Manager tab.
- Select the player you wish to ban.
- Click the Ban Player icon.
- Enter a reason (e.g., "Griefing") and confirm.
- Go to Banned IPs or select the Ban IP function in the menu.
- Enter the IP address (e.g., 127.0.0.1) and a reason.
- Click Ban IP to activate the ban.
- Method 2: Use the Console (Advanced)
- Navigate to Console in the left sidebar.
- Ban player: ban playername [reason]Example: ban Notch Griefing
- Ban IP: ban-ip playername or ban-ip ip-address
- The console will confirm the action with a message like: Banned Notch: Banned by an operator.
- Go to Console.
- Unban player: pardon playername
- Unban IP: pardon-ip ip-address
- You will see the confirmation: Unbanned Notch.

Contact usIn this guide, we will walk you through how to manage access to your Minecraft server. You can exclude (ban) players either via our user-friendly Player Manager or via the classic Console.
Method 1: Use Player Manager (Recommended)
The easiest way to manage players is via the built-in graphical interface in your PineRiver panel.
How to ban a player:
- Log in to your PineRiver GamePanel.
- Go to the Player Manager tab.
- Select the player you wish to ban.
- Click the Ban Player icon.
- Enter a reason (e.g., "Griefing") and confirm.

How to ban an IP address:
If you want to prevent a person from accessing the server from a specific internet connection (e.g., if they keep creating new users), you can use an IP ban.
- Go to Banned IPs or select the Ban IP function in the menu.
- Enter the IP address (e.g.,
127.0.0.1) and a reason. - Click Ban IP to activate the ban.


Method 2: Use the Console (Advanced)
If you prefer to use commands, or if you are in-game as an operator, you can use the following commands.
Ban a player or IP via console:
- Navigate to Console in the left sidebar.
- Type the command in the field and press Enter:
- Ban player:
ban playername [reason]
Example:ban Notch Griefing - Ban IP:
ban-ip playernameorban-ip ip-address
- Ban player:
- The console will confirm the action with a message like:
Banned Notch: Banned by an operator.

Remove a ban (Unban):
Did you change your mind, or should a player be granted access again?
- Go to Console.
- Use one of the following commands:
- Unban player:
pardon playername - Unban IP:
pardon-ip ip-address
- Unban player:
- You will see the confirmation:
Unbanned Notch.

Tip: When you use the /ban command while a player is online, they will be kicked from the server immediately.
