Connecting to a custom Minecraft Bedrock server on a Nintendo Switch requires a slightly different method than on other platforms. This guide will show you exactly how to do it so you can play on your own PineRiver server from your Switch.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you need to have the following ready:

• A PineRiver Minecraft Bedrock server.
• Your server's IP address and Port. You will find this information in your PineRiver gamepanel on the front page of your server.
• A Nintendo Switch with an internet connection and Minecraft installed.

Step 1: Change DNS Settings on Your Nintendo Switch

To be able to add a custom server, we first need to change your Switch's network settings to use a special DNS that redirects you to a server list.

1. Go to System Settings (the gear icon) on your Nintendo Switch's home screen.
2. Navigate down to the Internet section and select Internet Settings.
3. Your Switch will search for networks. Select the network you are connected to.
4. Select Change Settings.
5. Scroll down and select DNS Settings. Change it from "Automatic" to Manual.
6. Now enter the following DNS addresses:
   • Primary DNS: 45.55.68.52
   • Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8
7. Press Save to confirm the changes.

Step 2: Connect to Your PineRiver Server in Minecraft

Now that your network settings are updated, you can start Minecraft and connect to your server.

1. Start Minecraft on your Nintendo Switch.
2. Select Play and then navigate to the Servers tab.
3. Try to connect to one of the featured servers (e.g., The Hive, Mineplex, or another). It does not matter which one you choose.
4. Thanks to the DNS change, you will now be presented with a custom server list menu.
5. Select Connect to a Server.
6. Enter your server's IP address and Port, which you found in your PineRiver gamepanel.
7. You can choose to add the server to your list for easy access later.
8. Click Start to connect!

You are now connected to your very own PineRiver Minecraft server from your Nintendo Switch!
